Following the announcement of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the Chair of NHS Norfolk and Waveney, Rt Hon, Patricia Hewitt, said:
“On behalf of NHS Norfolk and Waveney, I want to express the deep sadness and loss that we all feel at the death of Her Majesty the Queen whose unparalleled life of service to our country and the Commonwealth has been an inspiration to millions of people. Norfolk was a very special place for Her Majesty and indeed all the Royal Family for whom Sandringham was and remains a very happy home.
“Her Majesty dedicated her life to public service, and it was heart-warming to see her present the George Cross to the NHS as a thank you to all NHS staff and volunteers who worked with compassion and courage throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to do so.
“We extend our deepest condolences to The Royal Family.”
