We all have mental health, sometimes it’s good and sometimes we need support to stay mentally well.

If you’ve not been feeling yourself for a while, take time to find out more about mental health, how you can improve your mood and discover local services which are available to help.

If you’re feeling low, Take 5 to look after your wellbeing. There are steps you can take at home to help lift your mood.

Get help with your mental health

Local organisations for adults:

  • Wellbeing – self referral. The Wellbeing Service provides a range of support for people with common mental health and emotional issues, such as low mood, depression or stress. Call 0300 123 1503
  • Wellbeing Hubs – The Wellbeing Hubs across Norfolk and Waveney are a safe space to get support for your mental health and wellbeing in your community
  • Norfolk & Waveney Mind – Whether it’s you, someone in your family, a friend or a work colleague, Mind can support you. Call 0300 330 5488 – Option 1 where you will be met by a Recovery Triage Operator who will support you to find the service or intervention that is right for you.
  • Suffolk Mind – support includes a wide range of courses, training and therapeutic services which can enable you to better understand mental wellbeing and how you can help improve or maintain your own. Call 0300 111 6000 or email info@suffolkmind.org.uk
  • Qwell – self referral. Free, safe and anonymous mental wellbeing support for adults

Mental Health support roles in GP practices

  • Enhanced Recovery Workers can support people aged 14+ with low level mental health needs. You can self-refer through your local GP practice.
  • Mental Health Practitioners can support people aged 16+ with moderate mental health needs. A clinical referral is needed to access which can be done via your GP.

Wellbeing support

  • MensCraft – Norfolk’s leading charity focusing exclusively on the health and wellbeing of men. MensCraft support men facing life’s challenges or experiencing difficulties with their mental health
  • You Are Not Alone (YANA) – support for those in farming – 0300 323 0400
  • Op COURAGE is an NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veterans and their families. Call 0300 323 0137 or email mevs.mhm@nhs.net

  • Emotional Wellbeing Hub – The Emotional Wellbeing Hub provides information, advice, and guidance to families and young people in East and West Suffolk, who are worried about the mental health of a child or young person aged 0-25 years, or if you’re a young person experiencing emotional wellbeing difficulties. Call 0345 600 2090 and press option 3
