Don’t get left behind – get protected today!

4th May 2023

COVID-19 is still around us and can make people very ill.

If you’ve only had one COVID-19 vaccination, or you’ve not had one at all, you can still get the vaccine until 30 June.

NHS COVID vaccines have saved countless lives, kept tens of thousands of people out of hospital, and helped us to live with the virus without fear or restrictions.

But the virus is still making people very ill, and protection against COVID (either from catching the virus or from a previous vaccination) fades over time.

First and second doses

COVID-19 is still around us and making some people very ill. If you have only had one COVID-19 vaccination or you have not had any at all, you are able to still get vaccinated up to 30th June 2023. To get a full course of 2 doses you must book your 1st vaccination in by the 5th May 2023 with your 2nd vaccination being on the 30th June (8 weeks later).

Everyone who was aged 5 on or before 31 August 2022 will be eligible until the 30th June 2023. After this date the offer will be targeted at those who are at increased risk from the virus.

To book for yourself or a family member please visit the NHS App, the NHS website www.nhs.uk/CovidVaccination or call 119 for free.

Don’t get caught out. Make sure you and your loved ones get protected.

Andrew Lamb, Senior Programme Lead Manager – Vaccination Services, NHS Norfolk and Waveney said:

“Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 and the spring booster programme provides an opportunity for those who are at highest risk of severe illness to keep their immunity topped up.

“We want those who haven’t yet had their first or second doses of COVID-19 vaccination, to come forward and get protected.

“This is also a reminder for those who are eligible for the spring vaccination, to ensure that they remain topped up and protected.”

Spring vaccinations

The NHS is writing to eligible people to remind them to get vaccinated, but bookings can be made at any time and people do not need to wait for an invitation.

Spring vaccinations will be on offer up to 30 June, and the last bookings can be made on the 29th June.

If you are eligible, you can make a booking by using the NHS App or visiting nhs.uk/CovidVaccination. If you can’t get online, you can call 119 for free, although this offers only the same range of appointments as the NHS App and website.
