Supporting people into exercise with Active NoW

Active NoW is the physical activity referral programme for Norfolk and Waveney. It’s a great way for people with long-term health conditions to introduce more movement into their daily lives and improve their health and wellbeing.

How does it work?

Health or care professionals across Norfolk and Waveney can refer eligible individuals to Active NoW. Once a person has been referred the Active NoW team will:

• Provide a range of activities

• Tailor a programme based on health needs and lifestyle

• Support with a person’s movement journey

Protect NoW

Active NoW works alongside the Norfolk and Waveney Protect NoW programme. People who could benefit from the service are identified and contacted directly. If you’ve received a letter concerning the Active NoW programme or Protect NoW and need a copy of the received letter for verification, please consult the details provided below.

Waiting for your Active NoW referral

While you wait for your referral to the Active NoW programme, we gathered a selection of valuable resources to help you stay active and healthy. These resources include a variety of exercise routines and wellness tips designed to cater to different fitness levels and health conditions. Explore these options to maintain your physical well-being and prepare for your upcoming programme.

Referrals will be acknowledged by text immediately and you’ll be contacted within 12 weeks of receiving the referral.

  • Fun and Moving - Digital Rehab, Health, and Wellness physical activity portal

    Fun And Moving is an on-demand health and wellness platform with exercise routines which cover Bed & Chair Exercises, Total Body, Dance, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Balance and Fall Prevention, Rehab & Prehab. There are over 1300 routines, 3 levels of progression and videos have been approved by healthcare professionals.  Fun and Moving offers a 12 week free trial which can be access via this link. There is no commitment to sign up to Fun and Moving at the end of the free trial.

  • We Are Undefeatable

    Find out how to get active whilst living with a health condition. The website includes lots of useful information on how to get moving, how to stay motived and online videos to help you get started.

  • Falls Prevention

    Active Norfolk’s Falls Prevention home exercise programme is suitable for everyone with an increased risk of having a fall and of falling or have a fear of falling. There are three levels of videos on their website here.
