Neonatal Project: New Born Early Warning Trigger and Track (NEWTT2)

Work is underway to embed the NEWTT2 framework into all three acute trusts postnatal care settings.

The revised framework is aligned to current guidelines for newborn care and helps to identify at risk groups.

This extended tool provides an escalation tool and a standard response and review tool to promote consistency and to ensure the families concerns are taken into consideration and are fully informed and involved in their babies care and the actions required.

The benefits of this programme include.

  • Parents involvement in their babies care
  • Improved safety and quality of care
  • Ensuring the right care is provided at the right time.
  • Improving outcomes for our service users.
