People and communities in King’s Lynn are one step closer to a new health hub as planning permission for a new-build site at Nar Ouse Way has been approved by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.

Now that planning permission has been received, the next and final step is for NHS approval of the full business case. A decision on this is anticipated in August and, if approved, the building work will start in September. The building would be planned to open in May 2024.

The centre at Nar Ouse Way will house a range of services, including community care and outpatient services from the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

It will be known as King’s Lynn Health Hub, and will be a modern, fully accessible, and digitally enabled facility that will help to transform how health and care services are delivered in the King’s Lynn area and increase access to services for people in the town and surrounding areas.

The new health hub will provide a range of health services that will help to meet demand for primary care and wider health services in King’s Lynn now, and to meet the growing demand from the planned expansion of the town.
