People in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston are being invited to find out more about a potentially lifesaving lung check at an event over the coming days.
The event taking place at Asda in Great Yarmouth during Lung Cancer Awareness Month is hosted by the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Lung Cancer Screening team from East Norfolk Medical Practice and the James Paget University Hospital.
The team will be on hand to provide information about the screening and answer any questions people may have.
Since 2022, almost 18 000 people from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston have been invited to attend the free Lung Cancer Screening programme.
If you’re aged 55 – 74, have ever smoked, live in the area, and haven’t yet had your check, come along and speak to the team.
The team from will be in the ASDA store in Great Yarmouth on
- Tuesday 18 November, 10am-1pm
- Monday 24 November, 12 noon-3pm.
82 Lung cancers have been found so far through the screening process the majority of which are at an early stage where treatment is simpler and has better outcomes.
