It is normal to be anxious about having a surgical procedure or any form of treatment for a health condition or illness.
Relaxation, mindfulness, and breathing exercises can all help. Most of all, it’s important that you ask for help if you feel you need it.
Your GP practice can advise you on support in your local area, or if you are already under the care of a GP or mental health professional for depression or anxiety, please keep in touch with them in the lead up to your procedure.
