NHS colleagues across Norfolk and Waveney have been working around the clock to support the autumn rollout of the COVID-19 booster vaccination.

More than 300,000 autumn COVID-19 vaccination boosters have been administered to people across Norfolk and Waveney.

Care homes across Norfolk and Waveney have been included in the programme and over 93% residents and staff have been vaccinated.

Kate Keeling, Head of Immunisation NHS Norfolk and Waveney said:

“We are so thankful to all the colleagues, staff and volunteers who have been working tirelessly over last few months to help reach this milestone.

“Extra clinics have been available for those who are eligible to get vaccinated.

“We continue to urge local people to take up the offer of the vaccine as soon as they are called forward. People who are eligible should book without delay when they are invited by the NHS either by booking through the NHS website or calling 119.

“This is also another reminder to also come forward for their flu vaccination and get protected for the winter months.”

Accessible clinics

We know that our busy clinics are not suitable for everyone, and we are inviting those who require our accessible clinics which take place at James Paget University Hospital and can be booked by calling 01493 453 930.

Housebound

Housebound residents will receive a COVID-19 and their flu vaccine within their own home or place of residence.

Those who are housebound will have been identified by their GP practice and will be contacted in due course to ensure they are vaccinated. If you have not been contacted by 1st December, please contact your GP practice.

The NHS will contact people when it is their turn to book in for the vaccine – you do not need to contact the NHS. We urge all those invited for both a flu and COVID-19 booster vaccine to take up the offer as quickly as possible – it will give you maximum protection this winter.

Overseas vaccination

It is important that you keep your details up to date including any vaccinations you may have had outside of your local GP practice.

The Overseas Vaccination Record Validation Service enables you to book an appointment to show evidence for any coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations you’ve had outside of England. This is so the NHS can securely update your vaccination record.  This can take up to 10 working days.
