NHS colleagues are gearing up for the next campaign for COVID-19. The spring COVID-19 vaccination will begin from 3 April.
The campaign is set to commence with care home residents on the 3 April and with the remainder of those eligible to start from 17 April.
Those eligible for the spring COVID-19 vaccination programme are:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 5 years and over who are immunosuppressed
Like previous campaigns, the vaccination will be available through your local GP practice, Pharmacies, some Hospital Hubs, at our Wellness Hubs and on the WoW bus.
Andrew Lamb, Senior Programme Lead Manager – Vaccination Services, NHS Norfolk and Waveney said:
“Colleagues across the health system have been working really hard to take on the next phase of the vaccination programme. This spring we are delighted to be able to offer the vaccination at a number of sites to help local people get vaccinated.
“It is really important, if you are invited to come forward and take the opportunity for the latest vaccination. This will ensure you continue to stay protected against the virus.”
Caroline Shepherd, Assistant Director of Immunisation Programmes added:
“Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is delighted to be a proud NHS partner, helping to deliver the COVID vaccination programme across the Norfolk and Waveney region.
“We recently welcomed colleagues from the former COVID vaccination team of Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust. They are now working alongside their HCT vaccination colleagues to protect as many eligible and vulnerable patients from the life-threatening COVID virus. Between now and the end of June our expanded spring COVID-19 vaccination service will vaccinate eligible patients at community events using our COVID vaccination roving teams, or at the dedicated Castle Quarter in Norwich and Connaught Hall in Attleborough vaccination sites.
“For further details patients can check all options to get vaccinated on the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Service website (https://improvinglivesnw.org.uk/our-work/our-campaigns/covid-19-vaccinations/)
Those who are eligible can book their appointment for a first, second or booster vaccination through the National Booking Service:
- NHS national booking service online at nhs.uk/covid-vaccination
- Telephone 119 (free), between 7am and 11pm seven days a week
