Director of Patients and Communities of NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) 

Mark Burgis is Director of Patients and Communities of the ICB.  

Mark was previously Director of Primary and Community Care at NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group. He has worked in the NHS for the last 13 years. He started his career in health and care in 2009, leading on a Department of Health sponsored Integrated Care programme. Since then, he has undertaken a number of senior leadership and executive roles within the NHS, leading multi-disciplinary teams in dynamic, challenging and motivating environments. 

Mark says: “I am passionate about building on the great progress that has been made across Norfolk and Waveney over the last few years to develop our health and care system, building on the firm foundations partners, people and communities have created. 

“There is clearly a lot of work ahead to further transform and improve services as we deal with the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  

“But by working even closer with partners, stakeholders, people and communities across Norfolk and Waveney, I am determined that we will be able to improve the health and care outcomes of people that live in this beautiful part of the country.”
