Free heart health events in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth

23rd September 2025

Two heart health events are being held next month – one in Great Yarmouth and the other in Lowestoft – and you’re invited to come along.

The local drop-in events, which will be held in Lowestoft on Wednesday 8 October and in Great Yarmouth on Thursday 9 October, follow the success of an event at The Forum in Norwich earlier this year, where local health agencies teamed up with Pumping Marvellous, the national heart failure charity, and other organisations, to offer heart health advice and screenings. More than 450 people were screened during the day, which aimed to identify and help potential undiagnosed heart failure and atrial fibrillation patients.

The venues have been chosen as both are accessible via local buses as well as having parking nearby. The event details are below:

  • Wednesday 8 October, 10am – 3pm, Waterlane Leisure Centre, Lowestoft, NR32 2NH
  • Thursday 9 October, 10am – 3pm, Market Gates Shopping Centre, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2BG

No booking is required.

On the day, there will be a number of health professionals available to offer advice and screenings, including checks such as blood pressure and ‘quick look’ ECGs.

The Pumping Marvellous Foundation is the UK’s patient led heart failure charity. It was founded by a heart failure patient and offers support to patients and carers, along with events to detect those who are undiagnosed. You can find out more about their work on their website.
