Members of the public are being invited to attend drop-in sessions hosted by NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) to share their views about proposed changes to three local NHS services.
The events which will take place 19-22 May are part of a public consultation around GP Out of Hours Service, GP practices, the Norwich Walk-in Centre and the Vulnerable Adults Service.
The options being considered in the consultation include changes to the bases the GP Out of Hours Service operates from, additional investment in GP practices, the future of the Norwich Walk-in Centre and whether the Vulnerable Adults Service based in Norwich should move to an outreach model that supports people across Norfolk and Waveney.
The events were previously set to take place between 31 March and 4 April but were rescheduled due to a number of council by-elections. In the period immediately before an election, restrictions are placed on the use of public resources and the communication activities of public bodies. This is to avoid the actions of public bodies distracting from or having influence on election campaigns.
The closing date of the consultation has also been extended to 11.59pm on 25 May to enable the events to take place.
The drop-in sessions will be held:
- Monday 19 May, 2pm-4pm, King’s Lynn Town Hall
- Tuesday 20 May, 5.30pm-7pm, The Forum, Norwich
- Wednesday 21 May, 12 noon-2pm, Blyburgate Hall, Beccles
- Thursday 22 May, 5.30pm-7pm, Lowestoft Community Hub
The sessions will be hosted by ICB staff for people to feed back their views around the services, the options being put forward and the impact they may have on them and those they care for.
People can attend at any time during the advertised slots and speak with members of staff in small groups, with all feedback being recorded – booking is not necessary.
The events are an additional method for people to have their say, more information about the services, options and methods for people to share their views can be found on the ICB website.
Once the consultation has closed on 25 May, all feedback provided will be reviewed and compiled into a report by Healthwatch Norfolk, which will be published on the ICB website. A decision will be made by the ICB Board in July 2025.
