Local NHS Trusts and social care providers across Norfolk and Waveney are hosting recruitment events for job seekers to kick-start their career in health and social care in the new year.
Members of the public will have an opportunity to meet staff from Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS), NHS Trusts and social care providers to talk about a variety of clinical roles, including health and social care support workers, nursing and a range of other professional opportunities.
These career events are aimed at people who don’t currently work in the care sector, people looking to return to work after a break or looking for a career change, with roles open to those without previous care experience or qualifications.
Guidance on interview preparation will also given to equip individuals with the right information and techniques on how they get into an NHS career or how they can progress within their current job role.
Health and social care support workers undertake hundreds of vital roles helping to support patients and residents through their treatment and assist nurses, midwives and other care professionals in a wide range of health and social care settings.
Sharon Crowle, Head of Professional Education, Training and Development, said: “The aim of these events is to bring together health and social care professionals with a diverse group of people to talk about job opportunities within the health and social care sector.
“We aim to make Norfolk and Waveney the best place to work in health and care. By having the best staff, and supporting them to work well together, will improve the working lives of our staff, and ensure patients receive high quality, personalised and compassionate care.
“The NHS needs to ensure it has a skilled workforce that can deliver high-quality patient care in the future and these campaigns effectively provide opportunities to people who are considering a career in health or social care.”
The events will be held at the Corn Exchange in King’s Lynn on Monday, 16 January 2023 from 11am to 7pm and at The Forum, Norwich on Tuesday, 24 January 2023 from 11am to 7pm.
