The newly appointed Chairman Designate of the proposed NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board has said it is a real honour to have been appointed to the role.
NHS England has announced Professor William Pope as Chairman Designate of the new commissioning body – which will fund services across the two counties.
Professor Pope is currently Chairman of the NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB, as well as Interim Chairman of NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
He has a range of experience from his various roles within the NHS, academia and business, including at Chair and Chief Executive level.
Professor Pope has won the “Technology Fast 50” awards for the fastest growing companies four times and was also previously Chair of the East of England Development Agency.
Commenting on his position, Professor Pope said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Chairman designate of the proposed NHS Norfolk and Suffolk ICB.
“Having worked in the Suffolk and North East Essex ICS since 2019, and more recently across Norfolk and Waveney, I understand the many challenges that exist for our communities.
“I look forward to working with our partners and staff to help the new ICB drive forward positive changes and oversee commissioning of great services for our communities.”
NHS Norfolk and Suffolk ICB will go live next April following the planned merger of the current Suffolk and North East Essex and Norfolk and Waveney ICBs.
