Project overview The Protect NoW team is working with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to contact 700 spinal surgery patients currently waiting for a first outpatient appointment.

A new clinic has been set up in Norwich to see ensure that those referred patients are seen in a timely fashion.   The Protect NoW team has contacted over 600 patients over a two-week period with the vast majority of patients opting to transfer to the new clinic.   The clinics will run on a weekly basis with the first patients being seen from August.   Approximately 12% of patients will require surgery and these patients will be returned to the NNUH for treatment.  The remaining patients will receive conservative treatment such as physiotherapy or pain relief.
